Hey all i have noticed that when i turn the 250 off i cannot turn it back on for about 8 or 10 sec. if i push the on button right after turning it off it will make a soft popping sound inside like its getting powered up but it wont come on it seems to do this consistantly has anybody else noticed this or would ya try and see if your does this. if i wait about like ten sec it will power up fine and no problems this just seems kinda funny to me im thinking its the circuitry discharging or the mode reset timer.
thanks.

someone contacted Garrett a while back and the answer was yes, it will do that.
I've only had mine do it twice so far, but like you say, a few seconds extra delay is all it takes in order for it to start propery.
How's the little yeller feller been working for you otherwise? A great $200 tool if you ask me.

great thats good to know ive found mine does it all the time if i dont let it 'time' out first. and ya i like it but i got alot of learning to do on it its a little bit different from what im used to, im learning the language of it, what its telling me.
i can definately see why everybody is excited about the sniper coil for it tho, a really really heavy trash target rich area does kinda give me fits atm but i wil learn it more as i use it, and it really is nice and deep too.
couple observations tho a really deep target will sometimes only beep in one direction, and the audio responce seems to be longer the closer the target is to the coil as in a deep target will have a shorter duration audio responce than a close one.
all in all im very impressed with it still tho just got to learn it
thanks for the answers im sure there will be more lol.

The manual says it has about a 5 second delay when you turn it on.
