in some parts of my yard my 250 starts beeping like crazy and the meter goes crazy'''could this be some kind of electrical current messing with it;;;;even does it while pointed in the air
 
yes it will cuase it to do that, when my cell phone goes off it will make the 250 go wild.......
 
You also may want to check to see if an electronic underground pet fence (Invisible Fence, etc) is in the yard. Some operate on 7 kh, similar to Garrett units. If so, you will have to turn the power way down to detect and stay away from the edge of the property...
 
I have underground powerlines.I can not even turn my unit one in my yard.Good hunting,Joe
