250 pinpoint

seems like all i do is di dig dig ;;sometimes finding nothing even though it shows a target

Sounds like you are getting over some deep old rusty iron or cans. They will sound like a good target and after digging halfway to China you find a chunk of rusty whatever. After a while you will get where you can tell the difference most of the time. All detectors do this, not just the 250. Coins will give you a sharp return and the signal will drop off an inch or 2 moving side to side. A hunk of junk will give you a broad signal over a wide space.

just like the manual says move it to the strongest signal on screen and target should be in center of coil;;;maybe im not used to it ;;;;i had a freedom two plus that would pin point exactly center;;;this is a little different

It doesn't work that way. The sweet spot for pinpoint is under the center front tip of the inside oval on the coil. Just move the coil side to side until you get the strongest signal then drag the coil stright back until the instant the signal quits. Stop then watch the signal intensity ( cursors at the top of the display ) as you move the coil back and forth slightly. When they all line up the target will be under the spot I mentioned.
