22kHz doesn't work well on my V3i

Tony N (Michigan)

Today I took the V3i out during lunch to test the Ground Probe. Then I did some testing on a quarter and nickel.
My RX Gain was at 10 and sensitivity around 85. Of course at 2.5kHz the detector hit hard on the quarter and nickel.
Then tested at 7 kHz and still good. But what really threw me was at 22kHz the detector would not sound off at all on
the quarter and to get it to hit on the nickel I had to put the coil very close (like 1" away) to the nickel.
I must be doing something terribly wrong or something is terribly wrong with my detector for 22kHz. I was in Coin and Jewelry.
Any ideas?

Was it rejecting target? May be a non v-rated coil. Non v coil will make target id way off on single frequency 22.5. Sometimes so bad a quarter will be -50. Turn visual reject off in advanced settings discrimination. Then see what number quarter id's.

It could be a bad coil, I would call White's on this one.
