Got out early this morning. Took a trip to a new location after some research on the place.

So, what did I get ?

Errr ........ no gold or silver today, but hey, the coins all add up to $$$$ ........

So, here we are ......

22 pennies

46 nickels

85 dimes

69 quarters

Total of 222 coins for a total of $28.72 in clad finds today :detecting:

This is my best clad day to date.

Oh, and this :fisher: Gold Bug Pro is HOT HOT HOT ...... and surgical too !

It just AMAZES me that you have spots where you can find that much clad. That is simply impressive. And further, I don't know how you can even DIG 222 good targets (and not telling how many trash targets) in one hunt!

sogoss66,

Most of the places that I hunt are free from trash, Maine is one of the cleanest states in the US that I know of. The school fields / baseball fields / soccer fields and so on are the places where I find most of these coins, kids love to loose them every day !

Not only that, I must be the only detectorist within 100 miles of my home that gets out to these places due to the number of coins I find each time I go out.

Last year alone I found over $1000.00 in lost change from parks and fields. This just goes to show how much money is in the ground, but to find it, you got to be prepared to go out and dig it up, along with the trash too !

The Publics Works Department and the schools keep the grounds very clean here. Don't get me wrong, I do dig the trash, I just never show it here. Canslaw and ring pulls and bottle tops and foil, it still gets dug from time to time, but I've mastered my Gold Bug Pro to the point that I know what is trash (a bad signal) and what is a coin / ring / jewelry (a good signal). There are times when I get it wrong, but I would say 90% of the time my guess is spot on with what I am going to dig based on the sound that I hear from the detector.

I've taken the time to learn the sounds of differnt objects, learning what the detector is telling you takes time, you need to take a slow steady walk, listen to every whisper / tone, if your not sure, dig it up, sure I may / might miss a target or two, we all miss targets at times, but there is alway next time when I hit the place again.

Cool Man keep it up !!!

Maine is one beautiful state. I really want to get up there and bike ride/hike some of Acadia Forest. Ive been up to Bar Harbor and inland from there, drove the coast up through Kennebunkport and thereabouts, some really really beautiful places up there.

ok, so how long did you hunt today ??
Nice totals.

Ah, I was waiting for that question ......... 6 hours Jim.

Thats a lot of hunting....
I've done over 200 coins in a day in less than 4 hours..unfortunately it was about $4.50. Lots of pennies.
Your getting good totals.
I need bigger towns.

Hey Amberjack --

Glad to hear that you are finally becoming re-acquainted with your Gold Bug Pro, and how it "loves round things!" :)

That's a lot of digging. The most coins that I've dug in one day was 165 + a lot of trash.

Hi,
This one is really one of the cool information about Gold Coins. And this one is really looking so stunning. Thanks for the sharing some great of information regarding Coins.I am planning to buy some gold coins for a huge amount but am not sure which one to buy, shoudl I go for 22kt or 24 kt ones,I will be using it to buy jewllery later probably after 10 yrs or so or I will also keep it as an asset and pass it on to my children.Any input would be useful.......:nopity:

For beautiful Sovereign coins : Gold Sovereigns and Sovereign coins.

any gold coins are good if you can get them close to spot, but be careful who you buy them from !! and stick with the well known ones sov's are good, get a good set of electronic scales they don't lie and make sure you measure the coins and weigh them 1st its better to be safe than sorry when spending big bucks !

so understand what your buying 1st how much they weigh and the size gold being gold weight and size are right then its gold, but check Perth mint out might pay a bit more but you are safe and that's worth a bit more and Perth mint gold will be world recognised but there are other places to look, am sure others would know more than me but that's my 2 bobs worth.

cheers
AJ
