2019 Year End Finds

floodplaindetector

Well-known member
2019 started for me with a spring flood fight and I started detecting in the last week in April.
I ended the year with 219 silver coins, 38 Indian head pennies, 42 Buffalo Nickels, 13 V nickels.
My Seated Quarters were bucket listers for me.

I didn't include pictures of my hundreds of wheat pennies and numerous older Jefferson Nickels.
I detected one house and one church permission last year. The rest of my hunting was from public sites.

I want to thank everyone for looking during the year and hope you make some great finds in 2020!

Dave

What detectors do you use? Congrats on the terrific year!

Dave,

I'm assuming James did as well or better? Got my meager finds on the kitchen table; time to break out the clad tumbler. I did get my first silver dollar this year, not much exciting beyond that.

Earlier this year my GF soaked some of my really crusty IHs in vinegar overnight and much of the crustiness came off and left a surprising amount of detail. I've tried all manner of stuff, including electrolysis with horrible results. I have about a roll of them and a similar amount of Wheaties, hoping there will be some new dates to be discovered.

Hope to get up your way next summer and meet up.

Chris

Nice year total.
As asked above what detector are you using.
Also general info on area your hunting,, you could be anywhere in the wold a museum? Lol

I am sorry you think my post is a wasted post.
If you follow any of my posts during the year that contain these year end finds you would see all that detail added to those posts.
it takes a lot of effort just to arrange and take pictures so I kept the verbiage shorter on this final year end post since it is a repeat of stuff I already posted during the year.
I use 90% Minelab eTrac and the rest Anfibio Multi and XP ORX.
I am out of Fargo, ND and hunt as far south as Kansas.

Chris,
thanks. Congrats on the silver dollar. I was lucky enough to get 2 of them a couple years ago.
Not sure what you are asking with James. More old coins ? More silver ? More relics ? etc. You may have to ask him as i' m not sure he totals anything up anymore.
I am pretty sure I hunted more than him this year.

Very, very impressive!! Congrats a 1,000 times over. I spent some time this summer digging dirt and that stuff is hard [compared to beach hunting I usually enjoy.] .

Let us know how the new detectors work out, especially at the places you've hit hard with the E-Trac I remember when James was posting here, 400 silvers per year.

Chris

Great year Dave! I ended up 221 silvers this year 4 on new years eve great way to end the year!

Great Job Mark.
Last night after cleaning out my year end finds container, I actually found a bonus merc and 2 roseys at the bottom of my relic pile next to my silver bins.
so I actually got 222 silver for the year. definitely didn't want to repost again for that :)
