Ive been able to get out and do plenty of hunting so far this year. Its been cold, but the ground has been soft. The pics in this first part of this post are of my older coin finds, clad, a pocket watch, and 2 really really really old buttons. The buttons have been dated by their backmarks to the 1830's / 40's period. The earlier one is a flat button. My clad tally so far is $12.37 as of this post. One hole had a nice little spill of 3 bucks in quarters. The pocket watch is marked Made In West Germany. Also, I dont think it hadnt been there all that long because it has zero corosion inside the guts or on the case. I may have it repaired because it had been over wound, but the hands still move and it is a 7 jewel. Might become my lucky hunting time checker. The older coins to date include the following:
Wheats: 1911, 1916, 1935, 1941, 1942, 1942 D, 1944, 1945 (2), 1946, 1950, 1951, 1956 for a total of 13 so far
Indian Heads: 188? (last digit gone), 1887, 1892 for a total of 3 so far
Silver: 1940 Washington, 1946 Roosevelt, A dime of unknown type or date that came out of the same hole as 2 of the indians. Privys are hell on coins., and the best silver so far... a 1772 Spanish 1/2 Real with a Madrid mintmark
