2012 Highlight Photos

Well 2012 was fun for me as I got back into detecting after several years of not going. I didn't start until the end of July, and got my Etrac in August, so this is my better finds for about 5 months. Most of the coin finds I made were bittersweet because someone broke into our house about two years ago, and among getting electronics and tools, the thieves found my collection of coins and relics I had in a keepsake box. This is very upsetting as many items were found in my relatives yards and will never be replaced. I have a gun safe at my Dad's house that I kept them in, until we moved into our new home and I had moved them but not the safe. Not smart on my account. Moving on from my downer back story, I made some good first finds for me such as the 1777 1 Real, which I am still in shock that I pulled that one up. I had never found any Franklin Halves and found two, and the Civil War relics were a very nice surprise too. Some of the most fun was going with my kids and watching their reaction to some of these discoveries and learning about the history of these items from a little research.
I hope everyone has a lot of great luck in 2013!

Thanks for the run down of your year Dave! Great pictures. Maybe you're new collection will have just as valuable as memories! Thanks for the pictures.
