The lunker (14K, 5.6 oz.) chain with diamonds brought this year up to standard for sure. There's also an $1100 "Oris" watch, a platinium band (left of the bangle) and a 1 ct. emerald ring.

Thats about what to expect on a winter beach. Most rings are lost in the water while folks frolic and play and tumble in the surf. I would wager that 90% of the finds Clive has pictured were found in the wet sand or out in the water. You would think that you could find a ring or something left over from the summer if you were hunting the wet sand but that is how it goes sometimes. I'm sure Clive will admit that those wonderful finds he has pictured took numerous hours of dedicated hunting to find. The forumula for success in this hobby is Good Equipment + Time Spent Searching + Patience + Luck= Success Keep hunting and the finds will come. I found 46 rings last Summer and 1 of those was found at an ocean beach as I live 400 miles from the shore, but I hunted my local lakes and swimming holes relentlessly and 14 of those are Gold, Several more are Silver and the rest SS or other Junk, but most of all I enjoyed it. So good luck and keep hunting and most of all have FUN!!! BTW Clive, Excellent finds and I love your books, have all of them except Pulse Power and it is on its way as we speak, your tips have helped this Hillbilly Pirate to pay for my detectors and more, Thanks.

Fantastic finds, especially that 5 1/2 oz. chain. Thanks for sharing your finds, but most of all your knowledge. I have most of you books and they're extremely informative and helpful. Please keep writing them.Happy New Year!
