2007 - The Year of the Sovereign

BlackX

New member
I bought my Sovereign (XS2) about this time last year, give or take. (And I just bought an Explorer, which I presume I'll be using most of this coming year.)

Here are a few of my Sov finds from 2007:

First large cent in lousy condition--but it was my first! Think it's a Hibernia.

Second large cent, even if Canadian. Eh?

One of about 6 or 7 war nickels:

17x7 half reale:

Ring I found when circling around where I'd found the half reale:

I'll try to post some more later. This seems to be all I have access to at the moment.

Thanks, Gulf. I thought I had pics of most of the rest of the stuff but apparently not. (Been having problems getting the camera to foucs at close distnace but didn't realize it had been a year since that started--about when I switched form the Tesoro to the Sov. I'll follow up with more. Hopefully soooner rather than later.)

Took a quick pic of my wheats before I run off to work. A few of these would be pre-Sov and 3 are w/ the new SE but the bulk are from the year w/ the Sov. There are also some no-date wheats that aren't showing. They're arranged by date but I just have them loose in a box at the moment and it keeps getting bumped. The x-axis is the decade and the y-axis the year w/in the decade. Originally the Philly mints were on the left of each cell, Denver in the center, and San Fran. (very few!) on the right but since getting bumped, they're a bit mixed up now. As you might be able to tell, there's a pretty good peak in the '40s.
