200 year old oak

This is the 200 year old oak that i think may have been a spot whear something was buried it is whithout question the bigest tree in the whole woods it is a full 5' feet wide just waiting for the snow to go will keep you all posted on the finds

Reminds me of a tree up the road from me that I happened to find in the wooded lot next to a high school and low and behold up comes a 1908 barber dime. Nothing else though. Good luck!

If trees could talk, I'd like to hear that story.

Good luck Gunnar,

It may or may not hold something. Sometimes it is just an old tree out in the woods. There is one way to know....

:detecting:

what makes you think something was "buried" there? Are we talking about a cache of jewels or gold coins? Or is it just the physical presence of the old tree that has been there for a very long time that has you interested? Dig and you shall find...maybe. At least you will know for certain.

moonshine in Minnesota! Yes, I do know it was made all over during prohibition. I had a friend whose father made "bathtub" moonshine during the "dry" years. I certainly wish you the best of luck in your search.

Gunnar, don't forget to check higher up too.
Some caches have been stashed in hollows in big trees.
Also sometimes you'll see a nail out on a limb,
they used to hang a string with a weight to mark the buried cache...

Good luck in your search!
