20* here this morning, but not so cold at the beach..found a "mystery " coin , and

several clads, and two "wheats"

Hank and I took Jacky to walk on the beach..hadn't planned on detecting, but saw that ocean and just couldn't resist..

it was high tide so there was just a narrow strip of sand to hunt..got in one hour.

Here's pics

wonder what that coin is...have it soaking in ammonia right now.
will post cleaned pics as the coin reveals itself.

anyone want to take a guess what it might be? I think it is too big to be another half-dime...

Obverse is in critical condition...in ICU right now:smoke: trying to find a date on this coin.

And if I'm not careful ... someday I may just disappear inside that muddy low tide..and join all the gold, silver and rare coins down under .:rofl:
 
water....was I surprised when the bottom of that little river just swallowed my leg up... quicksand..I tell you, Elson..... .....it was like quicksand. now I know why it is called "quick " sand.:rofl:....even one of your dune buggies would not have survived in that tricky little river.:smoke:
