2 X silver on a cold weekend out

I went out last Sunday with the CoRe. I don't like detecting in sub zero temperatures but had to. I decided to go on the same beach as the last time but with the 11 DD coil instead of the big 13 X 15. I used DI2 again but this time the detector was much more stable even with gain set at 90 and normal frequency 3. The smaller coil probably had a positive impact on stability / resistance to EMI. There was loads of pull tabs, foil bits and wrappers and a few bottle caps as per usual but nothing good this time. I decided to detect an area just outside the periphery of the beach. I set the detector to DI3. I was surprised to find a 1956 penny and a 1943 silver dime there. I didn't expect anything oldish in that area. I will have to investigate further. The big silver pendant was hidden in the recently fallen autumn leaves under a big tree. I didn't even have to dig that one. There is a small 925 engraved in the back.

I don't know what the 2 pieces of brass are. One seems to be a coupling piece of some kind.

Settings used: DI2 and DI3, gain 90, masking 39.

Nice digs!

I've found a few of those Canadian dimes here before, waiting for a Canadian large cent to show up one day.

Always extra good, too, when there's silver in the recoveries.

I enjoy the Tesoro's, White's and Makro's, and I really enjoy my Impacts and Relics' ... however ... the FORS CoRe is sill a favorite that I enjoy using virtually any time or any where. I use the 'OOR' coil the most due to trash, and will have the new 5X9½ DD open-frame coil on my replacement CoRe for the one that was stolen a month ago. The standard 7X11 and big 13X15 DD coils are on extra lower rods in my accessory coil tote.

I have a replacement Relic coming now, also, that I bought today, and they will wear the 5" DD and 5½X10 Concentric coils. I'll their 7X11 DD and 5X9½ DD on lower rods in the tote, also. My two Impact devices have the 7" Concentric and 5X9½ DD mounted on them, and on spare lower rods in my accessory tote are the 5" DD, 4X7½DD, 7X11 DD and 14X15 DD.

I really wish they would find my stolen detectors, especially the CoRe and relic models as they have brought me many memories. Until then, however, I think I am back to having a very functional and versatile batch of Turkish Detectors in my Regular-Use Detector Team. Once they arrive, that is, and I get the rods in to the powder-coating shop to have my 'custom' units back-to-work and looking rather sharp!

Now, as chilly as it is but nicer than you enjoyed since it's a cloudy 41° but cooling off quickly, I have an hour to and get some CoRe swing-time in.:detecting: I hope you'll be able to get out a few more times before it gets too cold or covered in snow.
