2 wheats at 10" in same hole

Well, my theory is getting proven more and more each time I experiment with the Discovery 3300.
I put the 10 inch coil on the beast today and after a good ground balancing, away I went in a field I have hunted at least 25 times with the White's Classic II and the BH Land Star.
I got a good solid 25 cent hit at 10 inches and I am thinking to myself..."Self...That has gots to be a tin can...Oh Hell...Let's dig!!!"
Out pops a 1946 wheat...I slapped the dirt and the plug back in the hole, and then as an afterthought, I rescan, and darned if there is not another copper/dime signal...I reopen the hole and probe it, and out pops another wheat.
This one was a 1944. My theory is that the soil is so soft in most places around me, that the old silver has sunk to 10+ inches...I mean if Wheats are at 10", then the larger coins must be deeper right???
Anyways, I put the rivet in just to again show how small an item even the 10" coil can find...It was one hot and humid afternoon...Temps in the upper 80s. My bike computer's temp guage read 90.5 when I got home...Whew!!!
BTW...With the 10 inch and the SENS turned up full, the pig sucked down fully charged batteries in 2 hours flat...

HH,

Nice finds and good depth !!! My question is what type of headphones are you using ?? Basically what is the impedance ??

HHing,

On that hunt, I used no headphones, but I just learned my rechargeables are 230mAH batteries, so 2-2.5 hours is about right right???
When I do use headphones, they are HP-30s...not sure what impedence they are...I think maybe 300 ohm???

HH,

HP-30 is 32ohms which is good. That's probably the right duration for your battery capacity and using the 3300 internal speaker. 10" coil worked good.

Good for you GoGo,
Keep digging those deep ones and you will get your silver.
