2 Tone Ferrous vs Quick Mask--Still Not Crystal

I know this has probably been bounced around before, BUT:

Quick Mask=Is wide open.
TTF=relic mode + has wrap around effect blocked out (01-01 to 01-31).

I am new user to this machine (like 7 days with it) and have tried both of these features at some parks last week.
Today, I was checking a signal in the back yard just for some learning time (I live on what was an old farmers field). There was definitely a flutey repeatable mixed in with iron
or maybe was iron itself.
When I hit Quick Mask it bounced from 35-40 to 17-46 to 11-44 to 10-38 to 21-46, 31-46, etc.; so it kind of looked like maybe there was a coin mixed in with the iron.
The Smartfind block bounced between all these numbers, and I remember from my reading if it DOES NOT stay in the lower right hand corner and
inches up over the FE 27 line you may have a viable digger.

When I went into TTF I hardly even heard the flutey high tone...barely a whisper but alot if iron grunts.

So, what really does this mean?
Quick Mask tells me I might have a digger, yet TTF really shows little there.
???

It may be iron or iron mixed with a good target, You must dig to be sure or to learn the ET. HH
