Hello all,
Well I went to South Florida for a few months. Really enjoyed the weather and detecting in sand. Easy to dig and you can detect real deep. Its common to hit a penny at 12+ inches ....as it is here about 6in or so. In Fl, I got about 500 or so clad coins, some foreign, 2 silver nickels, some tokens and 2 rings...one junk and one silver ring. I thought for sure I would find lots of gold jewelry....not the case. I was finding pennys encrusted in shells so they had been there along time. So, there wasnt any rings to find and/or someone beat me to it.
I bought a beachmaster 300 there and worked great but I sure missed my etrac. First time out this year in Oregon, I decided to go out yesterday and got about 60 coins...4 wheats and the rest clad. Then, I got rwo goods hits not too far apart for each other. 1 signal was 1-45 and got a heavy silver ring at about 7in. Then got a solid 12-07 and scored a 14k white gold band. Im sure I would have hit these 2 with the beachmaster but I always seem to have good luck with the Etrac.
