2 Quick Excal Questions....

Yes the coil is hardwired, don't think you would loose on depth between the two, it's a bit easier working with the 8' spotting the target as the trick is to get it in the scoop on the first try. Dan
 
As mentioned but better coverage with the 10" than the 8" and maybe a slight depth increase but it depends on the ground
 
i have a 10" coil on my excalibur and ive found deep targets 16-18 inches deep..in the wet sand:clapping:
