2 Old Spots, 2 Parks

I went to the city today to hunt. I went to an empty lot where a house burned down. I found a partially melted Merc last time I was there. I found 2 not-good-shape Missouri Tax Tokens. I found an empty lot down town and found a 1936 s wheat penny.

AA Recovery Token
I got a solid lock on a quarter and pulled the 1 month AA chip out. Then I got a solid quarter lock again on the same hole. Under the AA chip was a beer can. I guess someone fell off the wagon and tossed in the beer can and then the chip. I also found a San Luis Obispo City bus token. I found 30 coins for $4.90. Back to work for 3 days. No hunting for awhile:cry: HH, Awhitster.

I like the AA chip. Too bad the old tax token is eaten up.
I like the AA chip. Too bad the old tax token is eaten up.
In the field I could see some writing and the 5. I was hoping it was an old bar or store token from one of the nearby towns. I haven't found any yet. Once I looked with my loupe I could see it wasn't. The only local ones I have are Chucky Cheese. And I have plenty of those.

Neat finds Bro. Seems there are a lot of places down there we can swing on together. That's if you don't clean them out before I get there...:argue::punch:

That's certainly a good variety of non standard finds. Would have perked you up to find them.
Well done.:clapping:
Mick Evans.

Got a jar full of tokens. Going to have to dig them out and see what all I got. Haven't looked at them in ages. Whenever I find any I just toss them in the jar. Got a bunch of Chucky Cheese.

How was the ground mineralization there?
The two sports parks near me has a problem with it.

Robert R
No ground mineralization problems here in the part of CA I live in.

I'm 98% certain the Missouri tax tokens like that are from the Depression (1930s). So that's as good as a Wheatie, anyway. Were it in better shape, I would count it as better than a Wheatie.

great finds, thats funny the AA token was on top of the beer can. LOL

San Luis Obispo!!! I know that place. Love the Sand Dunes there.
Haven't been there for years though. Where did you find that stuff?

RObert R

In a city park and where an old burnt up house was.
