2 Old Gold Rings today plus silver...

I went out for this afternoons slight minus tide and worked the rocks before moving into the water and I found a ton of change again including more silver, as the tide went out further I went into the water and my first target was the womens signet ring that is quite old.. I wish I knew why it is dark because its 10k but I guess it was sitting in the mud and rocks for a long time... I then got the silver chain and charms, after a while I hit the my second old gold ring its marked 10k Fitchburg Normal School 1925 :) I really don't think anyone detects this beach, I'll post some pictures of the bottom make up but I don't share where I hunt so you won't see any landmarks in my pictures lol..

I don't have a waterproof camera but this is what the bottom make up looks like that I am detecting:

This is the wet rocks/sand? where I am getting most of the coins:

Very cool old finds, I have found spots that produce old finds here in Daytona Beach after storms but not to often.

Never in such rocky conditions, I also have a Aquastar PI, Love the PI

How do you dig in such areas ?? Would love to have spots such as yours

Very Kewl Though! What size is the ring, perhaps I could swap you for it.
Hmmm, 10k ring?, I changed my mind,18k would be more like it.:super:

Cheers,

BDA is the makers mark.. sorry about it being 10k I'll try and get one in 18k for ya :) its a womans ring or a small mens ring.

Hi Craig. Love that 1925 ring and man is that rocky bottom look tough to work in.Hope you pick up more gold! Good Luck! Walter

I just use my regular Babbs scoop with the stainless lip... It prys out the rocks very well and I never damaged the scoop or the shaft in 16 months I have been water hunting. I'll buy another Babbs scoop if I ever need another scoop. Only other tool I use is a floating sifter as its pretty hard to try and shake stones and thick mud.

I bought the sifter from a store in Long Island... Treasures Unlimited in Patchogue NY

Even 10k is more gold than I've seen in my scoop for far too long. I'm back to Horseshoe Bay this weekend for the minus tides. I need a gold fix pretty bad!

Cheers Craig,

How do you hunt the rocks ..... do you use a probe?
Or is it possible to use a scoop and a basket?..

Ill post some pics of the bottom tomorrow of my lake..
Lot of areas are bedrock or one large rock with cracks...
Have to use a probe...

Its really not that bad and by the amount of targets not many hunt in these conditions, I read how some fan the sand, well I push the top layer of rocks away with my foot and then start pushing the scoop into the rocks rocking the scoop from side to side and most of the finds including the gold is only a few inches down for me its easy pickings :)

I'm glad people stay away from the rocks, more for me :)
