Went up to the River 20 minutes from my house. The rafters are starting to show up now and allot of people on the river. Beautiful day, till the lightning came. Found an earring with a lightning bolt, it had a .925 loop on the lightning bolt. Then the real Lightning started ,so I split. Here are some pics. enjoy.

To cold for the Gators, it is spring feed 72 degrees year round. It does empty into another river about 4 1/2 miles down stream that is full of Gators. If they were tough enough they could come up stream for lunch each day. Most wild gators don't like people and go the other way, but I still look over my shoulder now and then. HH

Spent some time with my brother fossil hunting, and I have a photo of him in the water about 25 feet from a gator. You are right, they do steer clear of people and they don't move to much in cold waters. But from what I understand, breeding season starts real soon and thats when you want to stay out of the water.

But most of all I love Florida Rivers they are so beautiful even with the gators.

72 degrees is NOT that cold. If I were a hungry gator, I'd be making a little lunch-time jaunt up to where the dinner bell is ringing - namely, that section of the river where all the alcohol-soaked tourists are floating by with their butts in the water...

And I'd bring all my reptilian buddies with me for an easy meal...:chase: :chase: :chase:

It sure looks beautiful though....

HH!

Being from New England and forgeting about the gators I hit the canoe early one morning and all of a sudden, a gator as big as the canoe swam past the front and thats when it dawned on me.......I was in Gator country!!!!!.....I stuck to the ocean peirs and jettys after that. So I am a woos, but I am a live woos. Just the thought of getting dragged down in a death roll and being torn to shreds is enough to become a saltwater fisherman, screw the Large Mouth Bass....If I had a decent boat then it would not be a problem.

:surprised::yikes: thats a real nice confidence builder as I plan to hit head out to the Furthest part of the swimming area..
Me thinks today I'll strap on a Dive Knife just for Good Luck.. I keep hearing that the Gators don't mess with ya when your in the water.

But I don't trust that soo much myself... unless I know for sure yhat that Ate good before I arrived.. The other day when I was in the Lake I was talking with aguy before I went in and he told be of 5 Gators that he saw about 1/2 hr before running into me... just on the other side of the Rock formation "Pier" that I was going to hunt..

It just makes you a Lil more aware of your surroundings I guess.. I did notice that there were several GAR that were investigating what I was doing..

It's Not Just A Hobby !!! It's An Adventure !!!:heh:
and then decide what to do after that.....dah!!! geesh! Must be frustrasting being from the south!
Yeah I guess it may Be Frustrating Being from The South.. Me myself I'm A Yank Born-Raised NY... Never had to worry about gators.

But I have lived in Florida for some 15 yrs before moving to Colorado.. and I'll tell ya this...

When entering ANY Fresh Water Gators are always a BIG Concern.... And you should never let your guard down..

Me personally... When I hunt I like to give them a Choice when Needed.. I love it when others are in the water...

are being cruised by hammerheads, I have seen it myself, they were little about 3 ft. but hey where there are small ones there are big ones not far behind...Scary huh....sharks I worry less about, but those gators can kiss my royal Scoop!
