2 hour hunt

Planned to spend about 5 hours at the river today, but only got two hours before I had to leave. The 5 X 8 on the At/Pro continues to impress me. None of the items I found had any markings. One quarter moon shaped piece had 3 holes on each side and threads on each end. Another item looks like it might be part of a ring or ear ring. Found a little batman piece and can't make out the markings on it and the ear ring with what I think is a diamond and 3 coins for a total of 12 cents. I love the way the coil finds the smaller items like these. My left hand and wrist are still hurting and hope it gets better by the time the 4th of July weekend is over. Someone threw a lot of BB's and nails out by the buoy.

Heck yeah! One fat diamond is all it takes :clapping:

The BB's might be goose shot ? It definitely is nice to see the machine pick up this small jewelry, good for you.

Thanks. The 5 X 8 picks up some small sized targets I might have missed with the stock coil. That's what happens when you have limited time to detect and get in a hurry. I plan to put the stock coil back on this Saturday and hope all the hundreds of people at the lake/river tomorrow leave some special deposits for the fongu fund. I'm not talking about the pull tabs, sinkers and pop tops either. I'd love to find a class ring and return it to somebody, tho. I haven't found the first fresh drop this year except coins. All the jewelry has been 4 to 8 inches deep with the 5 X 8 coil and 6-10 inches deep with the stock coil. I doubt anybody was shooting at geese, but this area is like an army firing range. I just hope with all the boats and water skis and drinking going on tomorrow, they have a safe 4th of July and no one gets hurt or drowns. I've seen well over a hundred boats on the water on good weekends and lots of them are wide open and drinking too much. The DNR has made 6 boating under the influence arrests in the last few weeks. Why people would take their families to the river and get drunk and risk their lives is beyond me.

nice work Fongu! :clapping: Yeah, I hear you about the boats and drinking thing...same up here, folks get out and get lit..the water is no place to be drinking too much..have a good one, I'm gonna try to roust up some loot this weekend too.
