2 hour hunt with the 705 today

Took the 705 out to a church camp area for an hour and then a church nearby for an hour. The first 119 minutes yielded the first picture (about $.85 in clad). Decided to try one more strip of land and dig one more solid hit. The results are the second picture: 2 rings are silver and the third which I thought might be gold has no markings and looks plated at best--but I won't complain. All three were in the dame small hole about 2 inches down.

I am liking the 705 a lot. I hardly use my Vaquero these days, especially if there is a lot of junk in the ground. I am too old to dig everything! I had the rings cleaned, and they look better now.

You probably know I had a Vaquero. It was one of the deepest detectors I ever owned and the most frustrating. I like the 705 for what it tells me. I know it can do a lot more than the way I hunt with it but it's doing what I want and I don't take the time to learn it like I should. When it becomes necessary I guess I'll learn.
I'm very glad I bought mine.

I still use my Vaquero, but I do not feel it is as deep as some of the other detectors people had. Maybe mine wasn't a hot one. I would go relic hunting, and most people using more expensive machines CTX3030, I kept finding too much iron, especially if I supertuned it. I still like its ease of use and use it in areas where there is not much trash. I hunt with the 705 in trashy areas using the coin program. I know I am probably missing a lot, but there is so much iron and aluminium slaw in areas, that I spend too much time digging junk. I like being able to use tones and not watching the ID until I get a good tone, then I try to guess what I will find. I found 3 rings, but I still haven't found a CW 3-ringer around here:drinking:

Nice rings, hombre! I'm not using my Tesoro much either since purchasing the 705. The tones just make it too easy. HH

You sound like me. I hunt in really trashy spots and listen for good tones. When I get one then I look at the meter and guess what it might be.
