2 hour hunt at youth camp monday

I hunted the 1000 acre youth ranch this morning from 8 am til 10am and couldn't take the texas heat any longer. I used my ace 250 and the sniper coil. The kids start arriving next week and groups of kids ( 3000 in all ) will be there at various times til school starts back.
Here are my finds 16 quarters 18 dimes 64 pennys a grumman olson tag and a pile of trash. I only hunted the little kids swing and slide area. 3 of the dimes were just lost and on top of ground. Probably the crews getting it all ready for next weeks invasion.
everything I found was clad . Here the pics

here in the Texas heat. Look for shady areas to hunt from 9-10 am till noon, bail out at noon and hit the AC and a tall, cool drink!! Remember: Everybody loves shade in the Texas summer, so there should be good finds under those trees.

Lots of finds in that small of an area, looks promising when you spread out.:drinking: Have a cool one !

that camp has been there since 1950 and nobody has ever hunted it. They keep the gates locked and live on the site.
i didnt even get it all. got tired and sore from being on my knees two hours lol. the playground area is about the size of a city park.

Thats a good load for a short hunt in a small area. Sounds like youre on top of a good payload of coins and trinkets. Cant wait to see.

boy that ain't no joke Bill. When I got home I was dehydrated and sore all over. If this detecting don't kill me I should get a lot stronger. At least being in the heat I'll smell stronger :stretcher:

Very nice finds. Remember to bring some water along and hunt in and out of the shade.

Hey it will put you in shape and keep you there - but stay out of the heat as much as possible. Sun stroke ain't a pretty sight. That stifling humidity will nail you when you ain't looking.

yeah I forgot to take some water and it got me. by the time I got home I was having cramps everywhere. After cooling off and drinking gallons of water I feel ok now. I must have done 200 deep knee bends lol.haven't had this much exercise in 20 years or more.
gonna stop digging pennys. 64 is way too many for that short time. Fortunately the coins were in thick wet wood shavings,so i dug with my hand most of the time.lot of coins there in 58 years.

Keep it up and you"ll have abs and buns of steel.

Yeah that's a lot of bending, kneeling, squatting - for an old feller. I've got a few years on ya so think what it does to my frail old body.

Bill

my problem is the internet! For the past 5 years all i did was set here at the computer, with the exception of eating and sleeping. That lack of exercise has been bad for my body. That was way too much bending and walking for a 62 year old guy. But a few more outings like that will add a little more time to my life maybe. Hard to believe a hobby that looks so simple, can be so tough on you lol.
