I hit a local beach after work for 2 hours on the incoming tide, finds were spotty a few coins and an old gold ring it has a 4 red stones tested positive for ruby and also 2 side blue sapphires and a main stone I am not sure what it is..

Bottom was covered in sea luttuce and the bottom make up was silt and clay :(

GH.. My local beach doesn't get sanded in... its silt, mud and clay everyday of the year.. it protected by 3 islands so little water movement.. I have found gold here but not like the beaches with troughs and that are sand/gravel mix.. When I take a scoop here the bottom makeup has the consistency of a canned ham lol...

I have a Presidium gem tester.. I got it for testing diamonds but it will test for many other gems as well and it wasn't too much money. $189.
