2 days with the Safari.... WOW

crock

New member
Hi, I have been detecting for about 6 years the last 4 with a MXT which is a great machine, I have always been interested in the quattro but people were complaining about the delay so I waited and I am on my second day with the new machine and I cannot believe the difference!! I thought that 8-9 inches with the MXT was impressive but I just dug up a quarter 13-15 inches, every site that I thought hunted out is open again!! I got a lot of great tips from this forum that allowed me to hit the ground running. Thanks

WTG crock!!! The MXT is a great machine but can't match the depth of the Safari, neither can the DFX. Both are great machines but the Minelab FBS detectors give a definite advantage in depth and discrimination, and after all that is what its all about these days.

I have been using the xlt for 10yrs, and just recently got a safari. I used it in my yard and found a brass button at 6-8 deep. The snow has just melted as I live in New England. The button has a rose pattern on it , and it is as big as the end of my pinky. I have found many things in my yard with the xlt but apparently missed the button. I am still in the learning process with this new machine, I think it will suit me well. My two son's love going detecting with me and are using Bounty Hunters, they are 9 and 11 yrs old so evry find is exciting to them.

My pinpointing is dead on also and that seems to be an improvement from what I have read. Wish my grandkids were old enough to get interested in MDing. Right now they just like to dig in the dirt and don't replace their plugs! Ahhh, but the little angels will learn from Grandpa. Onus
