Howdy David
Like I said earlier, that was a long time ago that I had one, and I did'nt use it much, but I should have.
With a coil that small, it is slow going, and I was trying to keep up with my hunting buddies.
The only Barber half dollar coin I have ever found was found with this coil. Two other guys and I was hunting an old gas station that still had the old style visable gas pump under the awning. We were hunting in the driveway near the old gas pump, and it was full of rusty bottle caps. These bottle caps were so thick that you would hear 3 or 4 of them in every sweep. After digging a bunch these( the bottle caps ID'd as quarters on our ID machines) my buddies were ready to leave.
Then I mounted the snooper 350 on my Xlt, I made another pass through the driveway. With the small coil you could separate the signals better, and not get as many targets under your coil at once. I would get a solid beep on a bottle cap in one direction of the sweep,on the return sweep the signal would breakup.I was working it slow, listening for some thing that would not breakup on the return swing. Then I got a textbook signal, it was smooth, and did'nt breakup. I looked at the meter and it was reading Half Dollar.I pulled the pinpoint trigger and the depth meter read 4". My buddies were watching over my shoulder as I dug up a nice Barber Half.
These coils do work good in these types of scenarios, although I really don't know how deep thay will go.The smallest coil that I use on my 6000 Pro XL is the 5.3 Bullseye, and it will pick up dimes at 6". I would like to pick up a snooper 350 coil for my IDX PRO.Hope this helps.........Hombre
