2"coil on xl-pro anyone?

Has anyone used the 2"(bullseye I think)on an xl-pro in trashy areas? If so what kind of results? Thanks DBULL

You likely mean the 5.3 bullseye. I use it on mine in heavy trash areas all the time great target separation. Dan

I currently use a 5.3 blackmax which a definite improvement over the stock 9.5. Whites made a smaller 2"-3" coil which I thought was called a bullseye(although it is not currently on their website)expressly for trash infested areas. thanks DBULL

OK the only thing that I'm aware of smaller from whites was the Hot Stick crevice probe. Compass made a smaller coil the nugget coil. Dan

2 or 3 inches seems just too small...that IS almost probe size...

You must be thinking of the snooper 350 coil that is now out of production. I had one of these coils for my XLT many years ago. It was too small of a coil for me at the time, as I liked to cover more ground than my buddies. Thinking back to that long ago time (1996) I should have used it more, because with it I found my only Barber Half dollar coin with it. They come up for sale every once in a while. It was a good coil to have when running through the trash, although I have read that they work better with the classic series of detectors. This coil is a 4" coil. Have a good'n.............Hombre

Hombre;the snooper is probably the coil I was thinking of(3"). I have a couple of iron infested areas where the 9.5 gives constant signals and while the blackmax is somewhat better I can't help but beleive there are masked coins I am missing.I want to search these areas in geb/sat and the smaller coil seems to be the logical choice.Do you remember what kind of depth you got with the snooper?thanks DBULL

Like I said earlier, that was a long time ago that I had one, and I did'nt use it much, but I should have.
With a coil that small, it is slow going, and I was trying to keep up with my hunting buddies.
The only Barber half dollar coin I have ever found was found with this coil. Two other guys and I was hunting an old gas station that still had the old style visable gas pump under the awning. We were hunting in the driveway near the old gas pump, and it was full of rusty bottle caps. These bottle caps were so thick that you would hear 3 or 4 of them in every sweep. After digging a bunch these( the bottle caps ID'd as quarters on our ID machines) my buddies were ready to leave.
Then I mounted the snooper 350 on my Xlt, I made another pass through the driveway. With the small coil you could separate the signals better, and not get as many targets under your coil at once. I would get a solid beep on a bottle cap in one direction of the sweep,on the return sweep the signal would breakup.I was working it slow, listening for some thing that would not breakup on the return swing. Then I got a textbook signal, it was smooth, and did'nt breakup. I looked at the meter and it was reading Half Dollar.I pulled the pinpoint trigger and the depth meter read 4". My buddies were watching over my shoulder as I dug up a nice Barber Half.
These coils do work good in these types of scenarios, although I really don't know how deep thay will go.The smallest coil that I use on my 6000 Pro XL is the 5.3 Bullseye, and it will pick up dimes at 6". I would like to pick up a snooper 350 coil for my IDX PRO.Hope this helps.........Hombre

I use a 3" Snooper coil on my XL Pro and it has superior depth and separation like no other, However I use the 5.3 Black Max which is the same as the Bulls Eye and it is on the Pro 95% of the time. Has very good depth and separation is also very good. I mainly hunt old coins in old abandoned farm sites so trash is always a factor. I have used just about every detector on the market and always return to the XL Pro w/5.3 coil. Where I live the country wasn't settled until mid-late 1800's so super old coins are just not found. That said the Pro has got me a couple half dimes one even a bust 1835, the other a seated 1839, just a couple months ago. The Pro and the 5.3 coil is awesome on silver coins.
Come to think of it I may have never used my stock coil more than a couple times.

Okay,I'm convinced.I called my dealer(Duane;Lost&Found Treasures,Lynchburg tn)and he called back and said he located ,ordered a new 350 snooper. It's a little more than I expected($150) but Duane has given me several deals in the past and I'm a firm believer in supporting your local dealer! When I get some test time in I'll report back. Thanks for all the input.DBULL
