2 Bucks with a TA 300

Here is a bad pic of a couple of silver dollars I found after a summer of scanning an old schoolyard in western South Dakota with my Treasure Ace 300 which I no longer have. I traded it in for a discount on my GTI 2500. They both were cleaned with the Electrolysis method I posted earlier. One is a Morgan 1900 and the other is a 1923 Peace. They were in a rusty tin tobacco can which was buried near the corner post of the school yard about five inches down.

Ben,
Looks like some nice coinage, how did the electro process do with pitting, any? I am thinking of making a system and giving it a try.
Keep up the good work.

I only used it to get the rough stuff off and then really scrubbged them with a (HARD BRISTLE) Toothbrush. Then I used (shudder) a chemical cleaner my wife uses on her jewlery. The pitting was very minimal/none because I only left them in for a short amount of time. I learned my lesson before with some Indian Head Pennies. I also changed the brine solution (4 TBS to 1 pint of water) when the corrosion started to collect near the coin makeing it invisible thru the glass. They are both Philly (No Mint Mark) coins and the can really helped protect them too.

Wow really neat find. Everytime I dig up a tobbaco can my heart starts pounding thinking maybe this is the one....Nothing yet but the rush You get from all of the "maybe's" is still alot of fun.

But for every decent find I make I have 100 or more syrup bucket, trailer bolt, and mason jar lids which also make great frizbee's, LOL. I'm fortunate to be able to get out alot.
