Group,

I was searching a 1840 house for over an 2 hours and found only 1 modern penny and dime. I switched out my 950 for the 4x6 dd and about the time
I was about to give up I hit a 88 reading. I thought must be junk. Dug down about 5 inches and saw a shiny object that looked as large as a wagon wheel *slight exaggeration"
Behold it was a 1945 walking liberty half dollar in near perfect shape. Hardly any wear. Shining like the day it was minted. Only find for the day but it was a good one. Lesson
learned to search the whole area because the one coin you find might be a big one. Also, don't underestimate the power of the 4x6. Could not load a picture. It seems not to be working.

Super, one of my favorites. :clapping:

Here is my pictures. I t looks like my coin is in very good condition. No wear.

Nalc472, that IS a beautiful coin! Congratulations...again! That little 4X6 does get the job done doesn't it? I think that I have dug more silver halves using the 4X6 than with any other coil. Keep up the good work. Best of luck and...

I know how you feel. All of my hunt buddies have heard me mutter most every hunt that I want to see a silver half dollar. All I've found in half dollars since May '10 was a Kennedy bi-centenial.

I found this last Wednesday with the V3i, using the 10x12 in someones small yard. It hit...just like yours...consistent 88, 4.5". I've dug so much junk over years, I didn't get ready for a happy dance. I hit a root near the signal and that was frustrating. The home owner was on his porch so I took extreme measure to dig neatly, drop cloth and all. Under the root was this beauty.

Quite the experience seeing the VDI 88 rock solid and then actually finding my first Walker half ;-) martin

Link removed sorry !

Just post the photos here.
