1st time water detecting

went out today for a few hours for the first time run at fresh water lake detecting, using the beach hunter id 300,the wind was horrible and the waves beat me to death but the water temp was tollerable,learning the long handle scoop teqhnique was challenging but I was getting better with each scoop,managed to find about 4 dollars in clad coins 1 gold ring with 3 stones and 1 925 chain with a 10K name of Sylvia I hope my next venture goes as well.
 
Nice work. I was out this week wading some fresh water lakes for the first time myself. In 3 outings I didn`t do as well as you. It`s hard digging in the water, and I sure got tired swinging that coil. You`re success will probably improve each time you go out. Keep them post coming. If I can`t find it, I glad to see others that can.
 
that was a very good first hunt, i think you will like water hunting. 2 golds thats great, hh

I prefer seeing first time outters bringing home bottle caps, hair pins, and pull tabs. Crap... another one hooked haha. Great job man.

going back this wed, and I did get my fair share of pulltabs,see if the second time can top the first..the beach gets hit hard,but as for water=not to many underwater detectors as of yet.hope it stays that way for awhile or until I find a few more good ones.

Dewconn you hexed me for my second hunt the water was pretty cold and my chest waders have not come in yet so I did more on the beach and was haunted by the screw caps, pull tabs,did manage to find some more clad and 1 silver earing in the water but the beach yielded nothing but trash,so now I cant wait for the waders to come in.
