1st time out with my GTI 1500

Felt like an old friend.

I stayed home and played hooky from work. Went to the park for a few hours. The park is where the piano player is paid as far as learning your unit. (I only speak for myself, I have used the park as a class room for many years) Like the song says if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.

:nono: take your finger out of your throat, just pushing some buttons on my CP :buds:

As usual I didn't do vary well, as I never do with a new detector. I liked the familer feel and balance of the unit. I used to own a GTA 1000 several years back, so I was used to the GTA working of this unit. The GTI imageing was nice. It did save me from digging a can or two.

Now I need to figure out which detectors I want to sell off. It won't be my 1500. I have been hunting for a nice well balanced coin killer for several years. I now have a winning stable of coin machines. I will be putting one or two up for sale on the equipment forum soon. I just need to figure out which ones. :garrett:

Hang onto that 1500. There isn't a better coinshooter built anywhere as that's what it was specifically designed for. It takes a bit to learn it and its quirks but once you have it down it's a real coin killer. Centering of the target and pinpointing on this one is critical for accurate readings. You get sloppy and you will get sloppy readings.

I truly do plan on hanging on to it. There wasn't even a learning curve with this unit. I'm not kidding one bit, it seemed like I had my GTA 1000 back. The pinpointing was a brezz !

I'm just sorry it took me so long to try one.

Tell you this though, they will need to pry this one out of my cold dead hand. This will be my standard unit for the next 5 years. Maybe longer, and even then I ain't going to get rid of it. It will serve as a back up for another five.

I'm so shallow an easy to see through, I suppose you can tell I like it.

Glad to see a post on the 1500, just traded the wifes XLT for one and thought I'd made a boo boo (no one saying any thing good or bad on the 1500) learning was a little much for her on the XLT seems ok on the 1500 so far. Thanks for the good words about it.

I don't think she'll be to unhappy with the 1500. It's one coinshooting demon. Once she gets the hang of it the coins and goodies will start rolling in. It's an easy machine to learn but it just doesn't operate like other detectors. If one tries to use it like they did their other brand then they run into a few difficulties. Hope she finds a ton of goodies.
