Weather is really nice up here for this time of year, took the wife our son and one of his friends to a park at a school yesterday along with my Tesoro Conquistador

Howdy Steve,

I missed your call the other day, will get in touch with ya soon. I'm glad the Conquistador is working for you, have you tried the different frequency settings yet to see if that changes ground balance yet? I had heard that, I dunno, no experience with this model Tesoro, I'm sure it is a good unit as all of them are. HH

Hi Randy, I did play around with the frequency settings, I would get a beep and try each setting to see how the target hit. I honestly didn't see/hear any difference.

Well Steve,

You would have to put it in all-metal, and pump the coil over some clean ground and see if the threshold stays the same, goes to positive or to negative to check ground balance. I had read somewhere that changing frequencies, it would change ground balance, I dunno cause I don't have a Conquistador.

Yes, it did change the threshold slightly but I am not sure if the changing of the freq. is carried over to the disc. mode. I don't care for hunting in all metal with a threshold based detector.

I've used one extensively with the 7" concentric coil in planted hunts and tot lots. The frequency switch is great if you run into cross talk and the whole package is light, responds - retunes very quickly and is great to swing,
