Being from landlocked Colorado, I never hunted a beach. Well thats about to end - just bought a Garrett SH MK II and heading to SC in a few weeks for vacation. Im looking for a sand scoop and have a ?.

~ im young and will be hunting in mostly the water, do I need a 12'' scoop or will a handheld be fine. I dont mind bending over or diving for a target.
