1st Tesoro Detector. What to buy?

Hello everybody. I'm thinking about buying of Tesoro detector and I hope to get any recommendations. This will be my first Tesoro. My previous was Minelab Explorer Se and I was not satisfied with it. It was very slow in discrim mode. Now I'm choosing between Tejon/Deleon/Cortes. I think DeLeon will be optimal but not sure. Tejon descrim is better, but it has no display...

I'd like to know if ID number on display of Cortes is equal with ID number of Deleon's? (on the same aim)

Tesoro detectors are not popular in Russia where I live. But people who use them say they are great machines...
Many thanks for your answers.

Hi Rus,
The Deleon and the Cortes have the same circuitry. The major difference is the Deleon has pre-set ground balance on both modes. The Cortes has manual GB on the all metal mode but the disc mode is pre-set also. The other difference is the Deleon has a 5 segmet readout and the Cortes has 9. I would think the ID numbers would be about the same. If you have bad ground the Cortes may be a better choice because you can balance out the ground in all metal and still have target ID in the all metal mode on the display.
Good luck with your choice, Tesoro's are great detectors! :tesoro:

Are you hunting relics? Tejon would be the answer. I had a Whites DFX with a screen and changed to Tesoro Tejon, Silver Umax and had a Vaquero, (No Screens) I havn't looked back. I dig a little more, but I find more by not relying on a screen.

Relics = Tejon
coins & jewlery = Delon if your ground is good, otherwise get the Cortes with manual ground balance.
relics, coins and jewlery = Vaquero

Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Most of all I like beach and coin hunting. As for grounds, i think they are good. There is no salt on the beach...(freshwater lake beach). so manual ground balance not needed i think. Soon going to visit Tesoro dealer's shop and choose anything. I want to try them a little before buying.. Thanks for recommendations!

The Vaq was my first Tesoro, and I think it'll always be with me. Great depth(get a strong digging tool), fast retune for great target separation; coins, relics, jewelry, salt beaches, parks or the woods, it does it all. Light weight with the best warranty. You'll appreciate the GB when you get into some different soils.

Congrats on the Vaquero, you picked an excellent detector for your needs and should treat you well.

Great machine the more you use it the more you will understand what it is saying, and the more you will love it.

don't give up on it your first couple of times out. you must use it to understand it. I love mine!!
