1st spin with the XLT about 40 mins...... = IH :clapping:

Had a family cook out after work....grrrrrrrr so My XLT I just got had to wait.
After we were all fat and happy, I suggested taking my granddaughter to one of the old parks in town to play (see i'm sneaky, she also likes to help me MD) Then everybody wanted to go.....
Started running in the factory coins program with VCO on and Audio ID on. Noticed the machine was very noisy, popping a bit, Reduced Sens (I think,AC?) and switched to Coins +Jewelry, smoother.
Started digging targets, pull tabs, bevertails, pennys a dime, standard stuff. Watching the VID and paying close attention to the signagraph for any "odd looking" pulltab VDI readouts. Started getting darker out so I turned the backlight on (very cool) Picked up a VDI of 58-61 but the signagraph bars were hitting two solid lines and the target had that round sound, Pull the trigger VCO = 4 inches, hmm looks good VDI,signagraph looks good, sounds good = OH BOY! Dug and out pops a 1902 IH , WOOT! as they say UP here.

Talking to the "old timers" here this park is "hunted out" hmmmm, I've hunted here a few times and always seem to hit a IH,Buff, or old jefferson. It looks like from what I can tell the SILVER might be gone but they left all the low con stuff, ya know like gold.......I'll be hunting this "worked out" spot more.

Not bad for a 35-40 min spin ;~)

Some questions - When adjusting the settings to return to hunt mode do I pull the trigger?? I tried hitting the menu button to exit and return to hunting but it seemed like I was backing up till i reached the preset programs and then had to re-balance the machine?? So I'm assuming it was canceling all my settings?

I set the audio (I think) for tone id, should the tones be lower for low con and higher for higher con?? It seemed like everything sounded the same? of course, see above i may have been disabling it.

I like the threshold, it actually provided "lead-in" on the IH and some of the pulltabs like how my BHID works in am. I actually had to turn it down, Using GG headphones.

Backlight is cool! Also adjustable!

Very pleased with the unit, (thanks Pulltab!) I'm sure as I learn it, I will get better. Come on BARBER SILVER!!!!!! WOOT!

Sounds like a good day swinging. Keep up the good work. Mike

To return to hunting, yes, squeeze the trigger and Tone ID ON is unmistakable.............191 tones, one for each VDI#. Here is the link to the owners manual if you don't have one.

I always like finding the IH's good as Barber Silver in my book.
Never found many down south, and I was digging alot!

Maybe this is the year I land my first Large Cent! I can hope.

You can hit the lakeshore now too...should not be too far away I hope...

Great find...Gotta love a White's
