I guess you can say you had a good day when you can find your first silver Roosevelt dime and it's not even your best find of the day. Day's total; $3.80 in clad,( one penny came gift-wrapped in scotch tape), 1 car wash token, 1 smashed penny, various pieces of junk jewelry, dolphin pin, pewter ( I think ) elephant trinket, partial gold-plated heart bracelet, 1 solid copper ring with stone, 1 partial silver ID bracelet, 2 silver earrings, 1 silver snake ring, a 1963 D Rosie dime and a 14kt St chris' medal ! The copper ring is beautiful. Five silvers ( including the dime ) and Gold, yea it was a good day.

Wow, what a day.....CONGRATULATIONS...........

You're not getting spoiled are you? My goodness, what a day. Congratulations on your first silver coin! You're off to one HOT year! Great finds and pictures too, Thanks for sharing and hopefully we'll be able to get out for a bit soon and find some good old items. HH, Nancy

Thanks Larry and Nancy. I was a bit tired last night but I'd like to share a few details from my hunt. First I'd like to say that none of my good finds took any extraordinary amount of detecting skill or knowledge. There was one thing that was absolutely essential though to make this hunt one of my best ever....perseverance. On 3 separate occasions I was about to either change spots or leave the area altogether. Shortly after all three times I made some great finds. The Rosie was in the most unlikely spot, 4 ft. away from the walkway out in the open sand play area JUST below the surface. The gold-plated heart bracelet was a sight find that was literally resting up against a metal pole. I found that cuz I was crawling around under the structure. The copper ring, silver ring and gold medallion were all in areas I had ALMOST given up trying to hunt. Hope you enjoyed my finds and get out to hunt soon.

Thanks everyone. Harold, I never dreamed there'd be days like this when I started. I also wanted to mention that the finds were all made on abbreviated hunts at 2 city park play areas and 2 public school play lots using the 6x10 DD. Some of the clad coins were in tight to the metal structure but all of the good finds were made out in the open 4" deep and less.
