I went to an old park this morning for a little over two hrs. The spot I tried is where I found my oldest coin, an 1800 LC about a year ago. Didn't find much, but did manage to get the first silver, a 1945 Merc. It was back-to-back with a 1937 wheat, which left a green ring on the Merc. The signal was not that deep, maybe 5 inches, so I was expecting clad. Also it sounded strange, but that was probably because of the two coins together. Temp. was about 40 F, overcast, but the rain held off. Looks like it might be getting colder next week.
