1st ring with new Excal 2

Gday :ausflag:

Sneaked out yesterday for 2 hrs at low tide.
It was a beautiful day and I just could not get my mind off doing some detecting in the water- :) so I just did it
Weather perfect, blue shy, warm , now wind...water glassy
Its the 5th time out with the Excal. now and I am starting to get the hang of it and am hearing the sneaky lttle deeper signals now.
I hunted around for a while and found a sweet spot in a gutter of about 5 metres square where I pulled out my 1st ring (unfortunately its only stainless steel) and $6.20 in coins.
I could see 2 small lead sinkers which kept falling through my scoop and the water was so deep that I could not reach them with my arm so I left them there to annoy me another day.
The water was so perfect and with my polaroids on I saw a big ray, mullet, whiting, flathead, big sand crabs and blue swimmer crabs
...I trod on a couple of crabs which is why I wear wetsuit booties.
Thanks to everyone for their tips and posts here , me not ever having a Sovereign or Excal before, it has helped a lot

Just bought the excal myself. Planning on a trip to Florida. Had enough snow this year to make a man sick!!! 20+++ inches in a week, and then 40 mile per hour winds and drifts over 5 feet, down here in southwest Missouri. I've had enough of winter already!!!!!
