got to the beach today ..turn the xcal on NOTHING!!! poping in the headphones power goes in and out ...moved the power cable a little here is the problem power cable cracked by te connector to the battery .
took it apart cut about a inch from the connector ,reconected the wires works fine

i dont c how this could crack i never bend or abuse my xcal

i know 3 people that had a problem with xcals 2 right after the warenty ended

I have seen this two times this season. Those wire are on the move constantly. I have looped mine to the case so there is not so much movement at that point. But if there is a tug it will pull out. The same will happen to you head phones I wire tied them to the case then looped a #64 rubber band to the case and around the headphone wire. Now all the spring comes from the band not the wire. The rubber band only lasts so long. Hit your letter carrier up for some rubber bands.

I had the same problem my husband has now replaced the original cable,he repaired the original once and it was fine for two days then the same thing happened.I too am very careful with my Excalibur. Right now i am on holiday with my detector i am detecting up to 6 hours a day and it has been fine.I am going to notify Minelab as i have seen at least four people with the same problem definitely they have been supplied with some seriously sick cable.

Cheers Maureen..

wow im gonna keep an eye on mine for sure now...thanks for the info...:clapping:
