1st mercury dime and 2nd gold ring

I went metal detecting at a site where an old department store was torn down for a community college and found a 1925 mercury dime, my first and a 1944 wheat penny, Friday. I hope to hit it again today, but it is so full of metal scarps, nails and everything else.
Saturday, I went back to the river and found a 10K gold man's ring and 22 coins. 2-quarters, 5-dimes, 1-nickel and 14-pennies. All were clad. I found about 30 bullets of different caliber and many pop tops and pull tabs.
I took my garden rake and filled in the nearly 100 holes someone else had dug and left unfilled. The caretaker came out to see what I was doing and I told him I was filling in the holes someone else left. He said he saw them out in the river with a metal detector and said I was welcome anytime for filling in their holes.
As soon as I get a new digital camera, I will post some of these photos.
I ordered a water scoop and hope to hit some of the areas with water before the lake starts to fill back up December-15th. When I tried to dig last week in the water, there were waves from the wind and the boats and the holes filled in before I could get to my targets. I'm hoping I find enough rings to pay for my scoop and the sling I want to order and my jewelry scale.
My total coins since November 3rd are just 70 coins and that's less than some members find in a day, but I'm thankful for these coins especially my 1925 mercury dime. That's the year my late Dad was born and I intend to hang on to it.

Nice find Fongu, I thought I was going to find a merc on Saturday all the signs were pointing to
me having a good shot. I found a wheat penny and detected all around it in hopes of pulling out
the silver that had fallen with it. I was in the woods on the outskirts of the park that I go to on a regular
bases. The ground was partially frozen so I went to the insulation of the leaves it also kept the cool morning
breeze off of me. I found two wheat's one was a 1917 but never pulled out a silver. I'm glad you got one and
with a significant date. I thought I had a silver when I pulled an antique car coin out of the ground within four
feet of the wheat. The coin was way to light, aluminum, what a bummer! The car coin was I believe a 1904
Packard and the coin was made in 1968

Congrats on the Merc fongu!

Sounds like a good area to find silver. I have a couple areas I want to hit in my home town, but the river takes priority right now. I haven't been able to go dirt fishing since Saturday and I'm feeling like hitting it again this Thursday. Nice finds on those wheats.
