I have been testing out the Racer now for a few days . seeing how it reacts to mineralized stones i have, and working with the settings. all inside. to cold out now 18 below this mooring. 1st what i don't like , I don't like the overload signal, it would be nice if it was not on the detector ar at least have an option , 2nd is the stock coil seems big and clumsy, kinda heavy , but i can deal with it , now what i like VOLUME CONTROL, i like to hunt without headphones and they have that nice volume control I just love that , also they give you a nice plug for the headphone jack so no dirt gets in wile you are not using it , or a mudddrobber wasp does not fill it in. very good economics of the screen and setup are excellent, GROUND BALANCE is great you have three options and i really like how you can fine tune it by pushing the trigger forward and then making it plus or minus, very good the threshold all metal is super , I did try to get a dime thru my basalt and it would low tone but the GB was 87 almost as high a mineral reading as it gets but the cool thing is wile in 2 tone i can put the I,D filter back to one or 3 and get a target to come thru but it is a low tone but the rocks would need a P,I machine anyway so I guess not loss , I also have a hot rock about the size of a small potaoe. and its hard to not get the rock to sound off but i can get it to go silent and hit a coin under it but it comes thru as a low tone . Good in my book I like the read out on the minerals so you can tell what kind of ground you have , I found i would get better air test if the I,D filter was 0 to 3 very noticeable - the small coil is really nice very hot at separation the small coil can get a good dig gable signal on an 8" dime air test and 9 on the fringe, the stock coil goes about an inch = deeper amazing how deep that small coil is . now just waiting for a thaw
