Got out yesterday to the church where I found the IH earlier in the week. Didn't find a coin. Snow was almost melted. And ground was thawed. Dug 2 pieces of rusty metal. Here are the pluses so far. Lighter, pinpoints very well. On the down side no variable tone. That shouldn't bother me because I used the Xlt like that for over a year. But with the Explorer I got used to them. I keep the threshold so I could barely hear it . I used the XLT like that too, But the Explorer I kept just below threshold. I like that better but didn't want to miss anything. The weather looks better for the week. Will make another report asap.

If you run the mxt in relic mode you can get a low tone for any item under discrimination and high tone for anything over the disc. setting.

Thats good to know. the rest of the week looks good for detecting here in Illinois.
