Hey guys, I went out today with my 17 inch coil for the first time and I found this beautiful 14 karat gold ring in wet sand runing the beach Program with wet sand setting Running auto +3. It is a 14 carat gold 2.9 g wedding band. I have to Clear out the beaches before the Minelabing day As it will Be taking place here in my hometown. For those who want to know it was ringing as 12-10 found in wet sand at about 4 inches.
I got to tell you guys that this 17 inch coil is GREAT!!! For some reason I was able to get along very well with the pinpointing, I think I can point better with this one than the 11 inch coil.

Hello Dan, no im actually in Santa Barbara Ca. Im actually not going to be able to make it to the even, My vacations were already planned when i found out about the event. The only positive thing about my vacations is that i will be detecting in an area where i have found coins & relics from the 1600's-1850's. i will bring back pictures.

Great ring - nice job clearing that "junk" off the beach before the big event:laugh:

I attended the Go Minelabbing day in Chicago last year and it was awesome - tons of detectors given away and I was lucky enough to win one - too bad you won't be able to make it.

I was there too Doc. Which one did you win? You werent the guy who won both detectors were you?

How difficult is it to swing this big coil? I'm contemplating and working on deals but not sure about it because of weight. I would be using it in large open parks or large yards. Just not quite sure. I swung a 15 x 12 SEF all last summer and did very well with. How much does this weigh compared to the SEF 15x12?

Very cool, I've been detecting beaches since last October and have yet to find me a beauty like yours. I'm guessing you really like that 17" coil, does it go deeper than the 11" stock?
