My wife and I went to check on some property I have for sale in Seneca SC. The land is next to a sports complex and school and I thought it would be a great opportunity to test out my new AT Gold due to its location close to where young people play. As we walked on the property my wife noticed a pocketbook and a checkbook and wallet nearby. A closer look and we discovered that it was intact with photos, credit cards and ID. It appeared someone had stolen it, pocketed the cash and left it in the woods. We called the Police and in a matter of minutes, one arrived, took photos and was able to make contact with the owner. The owner had reported it stolen from the middle school parking lot a week ago and was very happy to hear that her personal belongings were still in her pocketbook and would be returned.
While there we decided to take a few minutes to hunt and my first find registered at 4" deep and a reading of 55. As I made the cut in the soil and flipped it over and my wife shouted there's gold! A closer look revealed a clad gold locket. My first gold find. I will return soon.
The next day we were packing to leave our Georgia home that was built in 1950 and I thought I would make a sweep in the backyard. After several pop tops and scrap metal, I decided one more dig and I would put up the detector then the AT Gold registered a high pitch tone and a 85 reading. About 3" below lay my first silver dime!
