Well I wish I could tell you this was me! My friend just found this in an undisclosed location, that everybody says is hunted out. He sends me a text with a picture of a of a 1911 canadian dime, and a few minutes later a picture with the words, it looks gold and I'm shaking! That's all! Then I get a picture of a coin and I've never seen it before. So I call him and he says he just found this 1901s 5.00 gold coin. 4" deep next to a tree, a pull tab signal with his 15 year old DFX Whites. He figured he better dig it since it was 4" deep. Wow! So I snapped a pic when he came over. Still had some dirt on it. Incredible condition. Enjoy the pics! Hope your inspired for the next hunt, the gold is just around the corner on the next dig! Happy hunting! Mark

Thats a really lovely find,i have found more gold coins over here in the UK with my DFX than any other detector, not sure why but they just seem to love the old yellow stuff.

No question about it when you see that glint of gold it seem to kick the heart rate into overdrive  but its a moment that you wont ever forget.

Wow, what a sweet treasure! That's one to mount in a bezel to wear as a trophy.

The gold necklace with charm that I found rang at 5 cents.
I only found pulltabs at pulltabs...
Even the old aluminum Italian lire ring higher than pulltabs.
The one thing I just try to stay away as much as possible is to dig the iron targets. They've always been iron trash...
All the good iron things I've found, rang at higher notches.
Of course, if I ever get bored, I can always return to my favourite field and dig up all the millions of iron targets...
If only iron would cost as much as silver...
