1st day with ATP at Beach

Vinnie

New member
Got my ATP today and hit the beach in Galveston and hit a nice silver ring at 5 ish inches in the water. Ground balanced at 16 and running in pro mode.
I've been using a whites coinmaster until today, hard to get use to the pinpoint but it works ok.
Can't wait for that gold!

that John/Edmonton posted a few days ago might help sharpen your pinpointing skills Vinnie. I know I'm not used to DD coils either and need lots of practice before I hit any nicer yards with it.
Good luck and HH. Hope the gold shows up for you soon. Bob.

2nd day with the AT and I have the pinpoint technique figured out, using the "off the toe" of the coil method, works really well. It's funny but this thing likes rings, on my second hunt found three dimes (clad) then a small child's ring with the chain still attached.

How does the AT PRO balance in the water? I know some machines are fine until you sink the coil, then they are a bear... Thanks

Balances at 15 submerged and 16 in the wet sand. With the coil underwater it makes faint chatter but easy to listen thru. It's about the same or less than the volume of a 9-10'' coin in pro mode.

Sorry Vinnie, I meant physically...;) I'm curious as to how the unit feels in the water.

Thanks

The arm cuff to grip is way too short, but the strap helps keeping it from moving around. Hunting in the water is a lot harder with the drag so I just hunt a little slower.

Thanks, some machines are harder to keep down once in the water.
