1st. Compadre hunt (tot lot finds)

My wife said she had to run into town this morning to run some errands , she said that I could go if I wanted she said I thought you might want to try out your detector. Well she didn't have to ask me twice. I done the running around then stopped at a really small kids section at a park (swings, monkey bars,etc.). I was there close to an hour and found $2.66 in clad. I was digging my third hit and noticed a key, grabbed ahold of it and pulled it out of the ground & there were two keys on a key ring and a 925 sterling silver bracelet on the key ring. The Compadre was lots of fun to use & it done real well for me especially for my first hunt with it. Steve.

Nice going SkiWhiz, and kind of interesting also. I wonder why they put the bracelet on the key-ring? Maybe they thought they would have less chance of losing it if it were with the keys?

WTG - your already on your way paying off the Compadre. Not a bad little machine eh? and the simplicity adds to being a fun little machine to use.
The darn little thing just finds things - imagine that :smoke:

I found it odd also , but I'll take it :).

Steve-nice! Where did you set your discriminator? What did you notice about the Compadre's sizing ability? Just wondering if you noticed some of the things I have. Thanks.

my guess is you will come to like Tesoro products,,,,,,,WTG on the finds,,,,,,

I pretty much left the dial almost on iron about the i in iron. I didn't do that much sizing as about everything I found (I was in the woodchips at the tot lot) was fairly small. My Compadre was alittle chirpy in some areas (bits of tinfoil, etc.) but it was easy to tell a good target, a good target comes in good & loud, I would describe it as a nice clean sound, coins gave a round sound. One thing I want to mention is as stated in a previous post or reply to a post I had a Garrettt Freedom Ace Plus for many years (my first "real" detector), my wife used it as much or more than I did, she loved that machine. We sold it and I started using Tesoro's, I loved them but my wife would use whatever Tesoro I had at the time and she would say it ain't no Garrett. I have had many different brands and models over the years and she always said the same thing it ain't no Garrett, like I say she loved that Freedom Ace Plus. Today she had to run into town and she said I think I will try out your new detector (used but new to me Conmpadre). She came home later in the day and I asked her "what did you think of the detector", I almost fell on the floor when she said I liked it, I liked it as good as the Garrett. Let me tell you my friends this is a huge compliment to Tesoro, I never thought I would never hear her say I liked it as good as the Garrett. Steve.

I know what she means. I had the Freedom III and won a speed hunt with it. I was first at the finish-not only that-I finished while everyone was STILL in the first hunt field. That bongety sound helped me win:poke:

No bongety sound with the older Garretts, who came up with that bright idea anyways, must of been someone who bumped their head too hard

Went out today for a short time, found a couple more dollars in change and two pieces of jewelry (a ring and a heart pendant, not worth anything but still fun to find). I have been using my Compadre without any headphones but have a set of these on the way (got a good deal on them from a very nice fella).
