1st Coin with my new (old) Sovereign XS-2 Pro

I just want to let you Minelab guys know that I bought a Sovereign XS-2 Pro on eBay that just arrived today. I have a Teknetics Delta 4000 that I've been using for about three months and love it. I had the day off, so I took the Sov and its' 8" coil out for a test run. The beach had in mind was closed while they prepped it for the summer season :veryangry: so I went to a 1920's house where I've found a few Mercs using the Delta.

The very first signal I dug was a 1909 Barber dime (my first haircut)!

This thing is heavy as hell (stock S rod), but I don't care! I think I'm gonna really like Minelab Sovereigns. I know there are a lot of things I need to learn - I'm watching all the Sovereign videos on You Tube. I'm not sure how the GT compares to my older XS-2 Pro model, but got mine for just over $400 and feel it's worth it.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I like to coin shoot in parks, but will definitely will want to use this on salt beaches (Delta did great on dry sand - on wet salt sand it would false on every swing). Relic hunting is something I've never done, but being a history buff, I'd love to give it a go!

Thanks for any & all help,

MickTwin :usmc:

Very Nice Hit! Congrads!......................Great machine for the beach's.....................joe

The old BBS coil you are using is very heavy compared to the modern Tornado version of it. I also built a light weight shaft for mine. Great find!

Is it a straight shaft ??
