1st coin spill

Well I went back to the spot that I found my 1st silver dollar at, because for some reason something in the back of my mind told me to go back and look some more. I had originally had left right after I found the dollar because I was so dang excited. Well I'm glad that I did, because I found my 1st coin spill. I guess it could have been a cache, but didn't find a pouch nothing but some broken glass. In an area no bigger than 5ft by 5ft I found 14 Indian head pennies and to barber dimes, and this was the exact same spot that the silver dollar came from. In one hole I found 4 Indian pennies alone. most of the coins were at about 8 inches deep, and I was using my Sun Ray 5" coil with my mine lab XS. I never thought that I would be able to top the silver dollar find, and I still cant believe it, I mean this park has been searched for over 30 years and the condition of the coins shows that they were in the ground for quit along time, so that kind of rules out some kid recently burying them. maybe people passed Over them because they were so close together and they thought they were junk, not real sure. All as I know is that I got lucky, and It was a great weekend, the best ever. the dates on the coins are : Indian heads 1873, 1890, 1891, 1895, 1901, 1902(2), 1903, 1904, 1906(2), 1907(3), the barbers were 1903 O, and 1905. I also found a 1948 rosey about 10 ft from the spot. Well I'm done rambling thanks for looking...HH

Don, while I appreciate how well the Explorer does in the hands of a capable user ... (and realize I sell them too), it is frivilous to claim a ML Explorer, White's, Garrett, or any machine etc ... found something some other machine could not find .... unless, all other machines are turned off and the other (non ML ... or any other machine) is turned off and each machine being tested against it cannot signal on the target before it is dug, going just as slowly and carefully, adjusted to its max performance.

I've personally dug targets a ML would not signal on with a White's and also a ML target a White's would not signal on. Newbies to this forum need to know that if they learn to get the max from their machine, regardless of brand, they may not need to pay good money to change to another machine.

great finds...tons of indians, and I love the silver. I have found quite a few multi-coin holes...usually 2 or 3. One hole I found 7 coins...all of which looked to had been wrapped in newspaper as all the coins still had traces of it (rotten of course) and they were stacked right on top of each other. Strange hole. Oldest coins was 1694...newest was 1890.

also found an old change purse...some pieces in tact still. It had long rotten bills and about 16 coins. All late 1800's to 1920's.

Anyhow, congrats...they are always exciting to find. Gets the heart pumping!

Are you saying that in order to dig positive tones you need an Explorer?

then any machine you use, simple fact and if you want to hunt side by side with me please let me know, I would welcome it in a heart beat bud :smoke:
