1ST CLASS RING! AND ATHER ASSORTED GOODIES!

Dig

Active member
Hey all, I have a lot more pictures to show but there seems to be a limit to what we can post now so, I will try to show the better items from tonights hunt! I just came out the ocean a few hours ago and I thought I would share some finds. I had a pretty good night and I found my first class ring. I am looking forward to trying to find the rightful owner. Any tips any of you more experienced hunters can give would be appreciated. I also found a weird looking silver ring with what looks to be a fake stone, and a mystery ring with capital B's cut into it. It is pretty light and is not stamped inside (Maybe Titanium or Tungsten?? IDK). If anyone has an idea about what it is, I would be interested to hear. Also there is a strange "whisk looking" golden earring that is sizeable and a big rock earring (it has a stamp on it that reads either .925k or 225 k..or something like that but it is hard to read for the crud on it) . It's a weird one....when I first saw it I thought that it was a fake for sure but, then later I was cleaning it and I noticed the stamp and looked at it under the magnifyer. It has a jewlers stamp for sure and the stone is completely unscratched. It also has facets cut into the underside of the stone. I may just be wishing but, I will take it to my jewler tomm. and let you all know. Keep your fingers crossed! I hope you liked my pics and again a big thanks to all those who have done all this before and helped me to get here and have so much fun. You know who you are...

I'll give ya an educated guess Dig. The lazer cut ring is going to be stainless and I'm SURE it was nice and low toned, right? The earring stud is .925, w/cz or glass. Those are never real, at least from what I've seen. The owners of the class rings can usually be located, if you call or e-mail the school and give the id markings on the ring. In the event you decide to e-mail be sure to include a pic of the ring, as you will be more believeable. It should get cha a good dose of mojo, for something sweet in the future. Great hunt though man , you DONE REAL GOOD!

The stone looks like it has initials attached to it and if they don't match the school then they probably match the owner's name which will help to track them down.

Nice Hunting,

BDA:cool:

THanks for your kind words and advice! Couldnt have done it without everyones help!!

Hey Dig,

Congrats, Are the owners initials inside the ring? I have tried to call Balfour before but they don't keep records for rings from the 60's. I don't know how old yours is but you might be able to call them also and get the persons last known address and or phone.

Nice finds. Get out and get more!!

LOL I just realized that I spelled other "Ather"....hahahaha I can spell really. Just an update GH was correct, that earring was a fakey. The funny thing is I went out tonight and found another one just like it in almost the same spot. I have also emailed Balfour and hopefully they will get back concerning the class ring. It's a more recent ring, so maybe they will have records.

Congrats, thats some fine loot you got there...
