1st beach hunt with E-Trac

Just got home from week long vacation on the beach. The E-Trac was to say the least amazing on the beach found lots of coins and normal beach junk ranging from tabs, to sunglasses. I only ended up with 2 gold rings one 14k white gold and one extremely large 10k yellow gold band. 5 silver rings, one tungsten carbide and one titanium ring. Some junk toe rings and costume rings.

Depth was outrageous, I dug pennies, nickels and other coins in excess of 12 inches very often and some at least 18 inches deep. One bracelet was about 2 feet, I didn't think I was ever going to get it out.

I dug one target that gave a good strong gold signal and I just knew I had a ring about 12 inches deep. Turns out it was a small washer about 1/8 inch in diameter with a 1/32 inch hole and was very hard to locate in the wet sand.

Found several sunglasses, most damaged or broken, but did get one pair of women's about 2 feet deep and managed to get them out without damage from the scoop.
3 of us hunted all with Minelabs 2 E-Tracs and 1 SE Pro. We ended up with several pieces of gold and several silver rings and of course lots of change and junk jewelry.

The most important thing was we had a good safe vacation and very relaxing.

Usually stay at the Admiral Inn...... Did you do the main beach, or go back around the Big Curve towards Savanna and do that area. Found Tons of Old coins up that way. It would take days to do the whole stretch. Lots of Rings have been found. Lots of tabs where they had beach fire pits too..LOL
It's to bad only the one Hotel is actually on the beach............I found a "Boat" load on the Beach near it.

Did you try the Breakfast Club ?????????????

Your post has made me want to pack up and head south. I may just do that soon.

Hunted the main beach north and south of the pavilion. I did hunt the River Beach a couple of hours and found 3 WW II Era 13 star tack buttons. I don't think having one Hotel makes any difference because there are some many condos to rent and so many houses and duplexes to rent in walking distance from the beach. There were so many people there on the weekend you had to dodge legs and feet to swing a coil.
Yes ate brunch at the Breakfast Club and had a Cheeseburger and Tea 10 bucks. it was excellent but pricey. Ate at Stingrays one evening and had some good oysters, shrimp and scallops.

Stayed 7 nights and detected every morning and evening low tides ranging 6 to 8 hrs a day. The beach was reconditioned this past winter and at low tide the water is all the way at the pier which make a large area to hunt. You need a 4 oz coil that is 3 feet in diameter.

I will give Stingrays a shot..................Haven't tried that yet. Your right about all the rentals.
I was only mentioning the one Beach Hotel because it seems more people wear their Jewelry when just going out to the beach for a short time.

Should be a lot of Savanna Traffic on the beach now..........Glad you had fun, and I will post up after my trip to Tybee.......

Your probably right, that more people wear their jewelry that stay in hotels to the beach. They don't trust the maid service to not steal it because the Hotel is not responsible. Most every person I saw during the day was wearing multiples of some sort of jewelry including rings, watches, gold chains and bracelets.
I had one lady come up to me on the beach and ask me to find her wedding band. It was white gold with a row of diamonds, and she had placed it on a beach towel under a canopy and when they got ready to leave it was gone. We searched for it for about 20 minutes with no luck, I seem to think one of her neighbors laying on the beach got a 5 finger discount on it. The people that were there next to them would not even look at us while we were using our detectors searching for it.
One of my hunting partners owns a place on Tybee and they also say that Sundae Cafe has very good food and the best fried oysters they have ever eaten. Good luck and have a good time.
